Sent on behalf of the Whiteshell Women’s Sailing League April 26, 2021
A few weeks ago we circulated a survey asking for your input on a new joint (Falcon and West Hawk Sailing Clubs) women’s sailing program. Thank you to all who responded. The program is targeted at women and girls of all ages who have limited to no prior sailing experience. It offers an opportunity for mothers, daughters and grandmother to learn to sail and race small sailboats together for safe recreational fun. Training workshops, mentorship opportunities, and a sailing league dedicated to program participants are also available.
So, now we’d like to share some updates to our summer schedule. All of our recent decisions are based on the results from our survey.
We have decided to offer two Women’s Learn to Sail courses from July 12-16. One will be from 9:00am to 12:00pm and the other will be from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Our weekly skill development sessions will be held on Monday mornings from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
We are starting to plan a Women, Wind, and Wine sailing and socializing event for the end of the summer. Details will be posted on our website once everything is finalized.
We’re excited to see folks signing up! Registration for the programs can be completed online on our website at: (http://southwhiteshellwomenssailingleague.ca/).
And, be sure to mark June 26 on your calendar. To kick off the season, the Falcon Sailing Club will be hosting a ‘Let’s Sail Manitoba’ Open House in conjunction with Sail MB. SWWSL will have representatives at the Falcon Sailing Club. We invite you to come check out our sailing club and see what our program is all about. Keep an eye on our website: (http://southwhiteshellwomenssailingleague.ca/) and the Falcon Sailing Club’s website
for upcoming details (http://falconyachtclub.ca/).
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you on the water this summer!
Thank you,
SWWSL Committee (Cynthia, Sharlene, Liz, Sara, Penny, Paul, Brennan)
