Several weather forecasts are predicting 50-70 mm (2-3 inches) of rain to hit the Whiteshell Lakes area Thursday through Friday. Many of the lakes are already seeing historically high levels for this time of year and this precipitation will surely cause them to rise further. Manitoba Infrastructure and Sustainable Development will be monitoring the situation closely over the next few days to see if any roads or other infrastructure are impacted due to this event. The High Water Advisory that was issued at the start of the week will still be in effect until further notice. Residents are advised to take caution when accessing their property at this time.
