North Whiteshell Fire Department is Seeking Volunteers

Posted on: August 21, 2020  |

As announced last month, (article here) the North Whiteshell Volunteer Fire Department (NWVFD) has taken the necessary initial steps to develop a volunteer fire department and is seeking volunteers.

The NWVFD is planning to initially provide a service that is focused on defensive
firefighting. There is hope that in the future this department will grow and provide a
higher level of structural firefighting. The first phase in the development of this
department will be focused on wildland / urban interface firefighting utilizing a defensive
strategy with equipment placed throughout the park in enclosed trailers that will be
towed to a scene and utilized by volunteers.

The job description for volunteer duties is available at the link below
