3:00 PM Update from Manitoba Fire Bulleting # 10
Fire EA043 Toniata / Whiteshell Provincial Park
– Crews continue to make good progress and no new issues reported.
Fire EA056 Whitemouth Bog
– The fire north of Whitemouth is approximately 3,800 ha. The communities of Seven Sisters Falls and Pinawa will experience smoky conditions. The fire is being actioned by MWS fire crews and water bombers. The Tim Horton’s camp (one employee) has been evacuated as a precaution.
Fire EA059 Caddy Lake (Burning North West of Caddy in Sailing Lake Area)
– The fire is approximately 3,800 ha (this might be a typo / Fires status report says 1460 ha). No significant suppression concerns.
2:00 PM Update
Manitoba Parks has confirmed the following and will report again this afternoon.
Whitemouth Bog Fire – Fire is still outside of the Whiteshell Provincial Park, last mapped at approx.. 3800 Ha. The fire currently has two water bombers assisting three initial attack crews on the ground. The Whitemouth Fire Department is providing assistance as well. PTH 307 remains closed at this time.
Sailing Lake Fire (near cottages at Nason and Nora Lakes) – The fire sits at approx.. 1460 Ha. Two water bombers and helicopter bucketing are assisting eight initial attack crews on the ground. No structural values are at risk at this time.
Manitoba Parks reminds us of the following
- Respect Trail Closures & Barricades
- Stay away from active fire areas
- No campfires
- No Backcountry travel
11:00 AM Update
Manitoba Parks has confirmed the following and will report again this afternoon.
Whitemouth Bog Fire – Fire is showing signs of cooling, six crews on the fire today. PTH 307 will remain closed for today with ongoing re-assessment based on fire activity.
Sailing Lake Fire – Six crews working the fire. No values at risk currently.
