Posted on: May 12, 2021  |

Manitoba Wildfire Service is asking the public to avoid the south Whiteshell, specifically around Toniata at this time. Crews are battling a fire and need to keep roads clear and people safe. Fire risk is high, please be cautious and help prevent fires.

MB Wildfire Service is fighting fire in south Whiteshell with support of local FD’s and water bombers from MB and ON. Tankers are making progress, but the fire is currently about 40 ha.

Manitoba Parks confirmed at 5:45 PM that NO cottages have been lost. Star is NOT being told to evacuate but will be told to be PREPARED to evacuate (abundance of caution at this point)
