Closure of Seven Sisters Spillway Deck

Posted on: December 27, 2019  |

Manitoba Hydro has announced that they have reopened the spillway effective Dec 27.

Manitoba Hydro has announced that the Seven Sisters’ spillway deck will close to public late Oct 30 to  Dec 30 due to severe icing.

Public access to the Seven Sisters’ spillway deck will be closed late October 30 to approximately December 30, 2019. The closure is required to protect public safety. High flows on the Winnipeg River and heavy ice build-up on the spillway structure poses a safety risk. Public access to the spillway deck will be re-evaluated as river and weather conditions improve.

Whiteshell Snowmobile clubLooking for a Fulfilling Opportunity?WE WANT YOU! We all know that snowmobile trails don’t just happen. It takes resources and many volunteer hours to maintain 13,000 kilometers of snowmobile trails in the areas of signing, grooming, equipment maintenance, shelter upkeep, etc. Why volunteer? People volunteer for many different reasons. For some, it’s to help others and give back to the community and club. For others, it is to build self-confidence, gain personal growth and learn new skills. We know it’s important to get outside during winter and enjoy all that Manitoba has to offer. Giving your time lends you a sense of well-being and connectedness to others and certainly fights boredom. It allows you to share your talents, abilities, and experiences while at the same time learning new skills from others. And don’t forget volunteers can have fun and enjoy themselves by making new friends. To volunteer please contact Snoman at info@snoman.mb.ca or your local club today! ... See MoreSee Less
