Citizens on Patrol (COPP)

Posted on: January 16, 2020  |

North Whiteshell Citizens on Patrol (COPP) just let us know that one of their patrol teams came across a break-in this past Tuesday (Jan 14th) at Otter Falls (Block 5). A garage had been broken into. COPP contacted RCMP who attended & then RCMP contacted the cottage owner to let them know. You may want to consider checking your place or asking a neighbour to do so for you.
WCA is working in partnership with COPP to make sure cottagers are aware of any events. RCMP have advised COPP that sharing on social media is a great tool to increase awareness and hopefully reduce the number of events.
Also WCA is trying to organize new similar COPP programs for both a) South Whiteshell and b) the stretch of lakes from Brereton up to & including Big Whiteshell. The existing program does daily patrols from Betula Lake to Eleanor Lake.
COPP is 100% volunteer.
If you are interested in volunteering or otherwise assisting with the creation of one of these two new programs please email us at wca@whiteshellcottagers.com Lee will forward to the Director assigned to work on this program

Huge thank you to Dave at COPP for bringing this weeks event to our attention.

Here are links from some break-in reports from the last several weeks
