Buttons Wanted

Posted on: August 24, 2018  |

I have a healthy addiction for buttons.  Buttons of all shapes and sizes, 2-holed, 4-holed, all colours and any type of materials used to create them.  I do not discriminate.  I learned to sew at the age of 5 (on a treadle machine if you can believe it) and I am sure thousand of buttons ave passed through my fingers. The real reason for my passion for buttons is that I find them very, very theraputic. I love how they feel, how they look and often wonder what type of garment they were used for and when. They help calm me when I’m upset and and cheer me when I am sad.  I breaks my heart when I go to a yard or garage sale and the sellers tell me they “just threw out a box of them”.

If you have any buttons and you are not sure what to do with them and wouldn’t mind parting with them, I would love to give them a new home with all the other cast offs I’ve picked up over the years. Just call Karin @ (WPG) 204-589-6816, (LAKE) 204-349-8689, or (Cell) 204-228-6822.

Thanks

Message from Parks : BIG WHITESHELLSouth Shore dock/ boat launch - As part of the replacement of the old dock a silt curtain is in place NOW and will remain at the launch until at least Nov 3rd. People looking to fish or use Big Whiteshell will have to use North Shore launch. Boat launch dock is out of the water at the south shore launch and the silt curtain will not let boats pass. Also the two floating docks on the end of the pier are out. The campground gate will be closed with a sign telling people to go to north shore. The old dock/pier at the South Shore Launch will be removed over next Tuesday and Wednesday. (Oct 27th & 28th ) (The silt curtain has to remain in place for at least a week after that – hence until at least Nov 3rd). ... See MoreSee Less
