Manitoba Parks has confirmed that they are removing the remainder of the old dock, pulling back the rocks, and adding 20’ sections to each wing of the new dock. The boat launch dock will be moved over so you can load/ unload on each side (so two can go at same time)
Work is planned for Oct 18-22
As part of the replacement of the old dock a silt curtain is now in place and will remain at the launch until at least Nov 3rd. People looking to fish or use Big Whiteshell will have to use North Shore launch. Dock is out of the water at the south shore launch and the silt curtain will not let boats pass.
Also the two floating docks on the end of the pier are out. The campground gate will be closed with a sign telling people to go to north shore.
The old dock at the South Shore Launch will be removed over next Tuesday and Wednesday. (Oct 27th & 28th ) (The silt curtain has to remain in place for at least a week after that – hence until at least Nov 3rd.
