Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure have informed us of the following happening at Falcon Lake.
Currently there are 6 logs in the water control structure. They have been trying to remove logs since April 7th but have been unable to due to ice conditions at the structure. The staff are monitoring the situation daily and will pull logs as soon as they can.
However until then it looks like we are getting a large amount of rain this weekend which could exacerbate the high level situation for cottagers as it may add directly to the peak from winter melt.
The level is currently not at the high water warning level but depending on the weekend precipitation it may approach that level.
The forecast for Friday and Saturday at Falcon is for 20 to 30mm of rain (approximately 1 inch).
