Manitoba Parks advises that construction on safety improvements at Sturgeon Falls in Whiteshell Provincial Park will begin Monday, August 31, 2026.

To ensure public safety during construction, a portion of the Trans Canada Trail will temporarily close beginning Friday, August 28, 2026.

The closure extends from the southwestern point where the Trans Canada Trail meets Sturgeon Falls Road through to Sturgeon Falls. Please refer to the attached closure map. The section outlined in green identifies the portion of the trail that will be closed.

The closure will remain in effect for the duration of the project and is anticipated to last up to eight weeks, depending on construction progress and weather conditions.

Visitors are asked to respect the closure and use caution in the area while construction is underway.
