Manitoba Parks has temporarily closed Hunt Lake Trail following storm damage sustained earlier this week.

The closure will remain in effect while park staff work to clear fallen trees and debris from the trail. The trail will reopen once it has been inspected and deemed safe for public use.

In addition, Manitoba Parks is advising visitors to exercise caution when using trails throughout the South Whiteshell. Downed trees and storm debris may still be present in some areas following this week’s severe weather.

If you are planning to hike or explore the South Whiteshell:

• Check trail conditions before your visit.
• Stay off closed trails and respect all posted signage.
• Watch for fallen trees, hanging branches, and other storm hazards.
• Report any hazardous conditions to Manitoba Parks if encountered.

The Whiteshell Cottagers Association will share additional updates as they become available.
