Our Mission
The Whiteshell Cottagers Association (WCA) is a volunteer, member-based organization representing
individuals who own or lease property within the Whiteshell Provincial Park. Our mission is to build collaborative and productive partnerships with government and other Park Stakeholders. Through cooperation grounded in trust and respect, we work together to support friendly, family-oriented lake communities throughout the park.
Our Vision
The WCA envisions the Whiteshell Provincial Park as a thriving, protected and family bonding environment for current and future generations. As the unified and representative voice of cottage owners and leaseholders, the WCA ensures fair and equitable treatment, reliable and affordable services, meaningful community involvement and transparent decision making. The WCA supports the Provincial Government’s original mandate that the Whiteshell Provincial Park remains accessible and affordable for all Manitobans, from all walks of life, now and into the future.

Our
History
For more than seven decades, the Whiteshell Cottagers Association has played an active role in shaping cottage life in the Whiteshell.
September 2, 1951 The Founding of the Association
The Whiteshell Cottagers Association began at Brereton Lake when a group of pioneers formed what was then known as the Whiteshell District Association. At the time, families relied on coal oil lamps and ice harvested from frozen lakes, and the dream of hydro power seemed impossible.
