The Cottagers Handbook, produced by Manitoba Conservation, outlines information, regulations and guidelines affecting cottagers in Manitoba’s provincial parks. The Handbook is currently under revision. The Board of Directors of the Whiteshell Cottagers Association has reviewed a draft copy of the new Handbook and provided Manitoba Conservation with its comments and concerns. While the WCA endorses such regulation to protect the environment and minimize conflicts, it remains concerned that the Manitoba government has taken the position that none of these regulations apply to other user groups and that no such regulations are being developed. The majority of human activity in our Park remains poorly regulated.

Will the WCA written comments and revisions to the handbook be provided to general members of the association? At what point will general members have an opportunity to provide input to the draft prior to final approval?
